The Library

MISSION STATEMENT

The North Zulch Library serves Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as the local community. The library operates on a flexible schedule, although a set weekly schedule is used for Pre-K through 6th offering story times, library skills, and research strategies. Our school is always striving to provide the best educational resources for our students to encourage life-long reading and learning skills. We provide our community and district with many sources of media including home access to on-line databases.

                                                                                                                      Accelerated Reader

Our school library is home to over nine thousand books that children can take Accelerated Reader or AR tests on. If they pass the test they are awarded by points, the points range depending on the level of difficulty of the book.  Once the children accumulate a certain number of points they get to go on a trip away from school and they get to go to a fun place. This year grades 1-6th will all be going to Gatti town and the Incredible Pizza Co.  The 7th-12th grades will be going bowling and to a movie.  They are awarded the first Thursday after every six weeks where they get an ice cream and a ticket for an additional prize.

                                                                                                                         Scholastic Book Fair

The book fair is a time when the children can buy books that they are interested in. The next book fair will be held September 14 through the 22

from 8 to 4. Family night is when the parents and the children get to come and look at the books and make a selection.  Family night will be held on September the 19th from 6 to 7:30
